IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) — a 15-bit decimal number unique to each mobile device. This number is found on all GSM, WCDMA and IDEN cell phones. The IMEI is assigned to the device when it is manufactured at the factory and is stored in the device's firmware. The IMEI is transmitted to the network during network authorization and is used to identify the device in the mobile network.
