Electricity Restored Across the TRNC Following Teknecik Power Plant Failure
The Cyprus Turkish Electricity Authority (KIB-TEK) has successfully addressed a malfunction at the Teknecik Power Plant, bringing electricity back to homes across the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

According to KIB-TEK, the generators that were temporarily shut down due to the technical issue were restarted on Thursday evening at approximately 8:30 PM. This allowed the energy supply to stabilize, and electricity has since been restored to all affected regions.
The outage, described as an “energy crisis,” occurred on Wednesday evening when a high-voltage line at the Teknecik Power Plant failed. The malfunction caused a wave of power outages across the TRNC, leaving residents in darkness.
