"Three Months of Abundance" Begin for Muslims in the TRNC
The Islamic world has entered a season of mercy, abundance, and spiritual renewal. On the night between January 2nd and 3rd, Muslims observe Regaip Kandili, marking the Night of Conception (or Enlightenment) of Prophet Muhammad.
Traditionally, it is believed that on this night, Abdullah and Amina, the parents of Prophet Muhammad, were married.
This important holiday signals the start of a season of three months, during which Muslims worldwide will observe Rajab, Sha'ban, and Ramadan.
The upcoming months offer Muslims a chance to deepen their religious practices and enhance their spiritual lives through more worship and devotion.
During this period, Muslims are encouraged to increase their acts of worship, read the Holy Quran, seek forgiveness through prayer, and give to charity.
On January 26th, Muslims will celebrate Miraj Kandili, the night when Prophet Muhammad ascended to Allah. February 13th will mark Berat Kandili, a key event that precedes the start of Ramadan. Ramadan will begin on March 1st.
Laylat al-Qadr will be observed on March 26th, and on March 30th, Muslims will celebrate Eid al-Fitr.
