The European Commission has announced the launch of the EU Scholarship Program for the 2024/25 academic year, funded under the EU Aid Program for the Turkish Cypriot Community.

According to a statement from the European Commission Representation in Cyprus, the program, with a budget of 5 million euros, will continue to provide educational opportunities, professional training, and development for the Turkish Cypriot community in various fields and at different levels within the European Union, contributing to the overall goal of reunifying the island.

The statement notes that the application process started yesterday and will end on April 2 at 23:59 Cyprus time.

All interested candidates are invited to apply online on the website www.euburs.eu. More detailed information about the scholarship can be obtained on the website or via email at [email protected].

The scholarship program aims to promote the economic development of society through new technical knowledge and social skills, as well as general knowledge in various priority areas where there is demand in the labor market, from software development to sustainable development and energy technologies.

As part of the EU Scholarship Program, the Alumni Relations Initiative has also been established - an online platform aimed at connecting approximately 2150 Turkish Cypriot alumni who have received scholarships since 2007.

It was announced that the program will continue to support participants beyond their scholarship experience by creating and activating a diverse and inclusive alumni network.
