President of Northern Cyprus Congratulates Turkish Leader on His Birthday
President of Northern Cyprus Ersin Tatar has extended his birthday wishes to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who turned 71 today.
In his message, Tatar wished Erdoğan many more years of health and happiness surrounded by his family and loved ones. He also expressed gratitude for Turkey’s unwavering support for the TRNC.
“On this special occasion, I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation for your steadfast support of the TRNC, the Turkish Cypriot people, our national cause, and our vision for a two-state solution. We know that as long as Motherland Turkey stands with us and we have the support of the Turkish nation, we will never falter. With these sentiments, I once again extend my warmest congratulations on your 71st birthday and send my best wishes for the prosperity and well-being of the Great Turkish Nation.”
Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was born on February 26, 1954, in Istanbul. A veteran statesman and politician, he has served as the 12th President of Turkey since August 28, 2014. Before assuming the presidency, he was Turkey’s Prime Minister from 2003 to 2014 and the Mayor of Istanbul from 1994 to 1998. He is also the founding leader of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP). Throughout his tenure, Erdoğan has repeatedly called on the international community to recognize the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
