TRNC Statistical Institute Reveals Population Estimate for 2022
Demographic discussions regarding the population size of the country persist in Northern Cyprus. The TRNC Statistical Institute shared its data, stating that nearly 400 thousand people were residing in the country in 2022. This figure significantly differs from previously disclosed data.
According to the forecast research of the Statistical Institute, the population of TRNC in 2022 was reported to be 399,727 people.
The expected life expectancy for the male population was stated at 79.4 years, while for the female population, it was 83.2 years.
The projected population announced by the institution for the year 2021 was determined to be 390,745 people.
It is worth noting that earlier reports from various sources suggested that the population of Northern Cyprus was approaching one million people. However, President of TRNC, Ersin Tatar, previously stated that the official population of TRNC is 410 thousand people.
