Two perpetrators of sexual violence have been sentenced to 18 years of imprisonment
Ibrahim Uchar and Hasan Takjilar, who committed acts of sexual violence against a 21-year-old fellow inmate, have been sentenced to 18 years of imprisonment each.
A total of four suspects are involved in the case, who, according to the investigation, on February 10, 2023, while in one of the cells of the Central Prison, sexually assaulted a fellow prisoner, inflicting blows with their hands and feet, brutally beating him, and threatening to kill him if he resisted their intentions to engage in sexual intercourse.
Although two of the accused were sentenced to 18 years of imprisonment each, the trials of Aydin Guner and Ibrahim Takjilar, who appeared before the court for the same crime but did not acknowledge the charges, are ongoing.
The presiding judge of the panel, Fusun Cemaller, stated that the accused Ibrahim Uchar and Hasan Takjilar had previously been repeatedly incarcerated for various crimes.
Cemaller also declared that the number of crimes related to sexual violence has increased and that deterrent punishments should be applied to individuals who commit or are inclined to commit such offenses.
