TRNC Minimum Wage Commission to Convene Tomorrow
The commission responsible for setting the minimum wage in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) will hold its first meeting on Friday, January 17.
The commission will discuss and determine the new minimum wage for 2025, considering the economic conditions of workers as well as the demands from employers. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 14:00 and will take place in the meeting hall of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection.
It is worth noting that at the end of last year, Ahmet Serdaroğlu, the president of the Federation of Free Trade Unions (Hür-İş), officially requested that the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection call for the commission to set a new minimum wage effective from January 1, 2025.
Previously, the Statistical Institute announced the inflation rate for December and the annual inflation rate in the TRNC, followed by the release of public sector salaries.
