Koop-Bank joins strike in support of cooperative enterprises
Cooperative enterprises continue their strike, which has already lasted six days. Against this background, the Koop-Sen union announced a new action – the Cooperative Bank (Koop-Bank) is now joining the protests.
According to the union’s chairman, Mehmetali Güreş, although employees were paid their salaries during the negotiations, key demands remain unresolved. The issues concern the protection of workers’ rights and the future of 44 employees who were dismissed after retiring under the social security scheme.
The union emphasizes that the payment of salaries does not solve the problem as a whole. Until the issues of social guarantees and the status of the dismissed employees are resolved, the protests will continue. The decision to hold a strike at Koop-Bank was made as a step of solidarity with cooperative enterprises, whose employees continue to fight for their rights.
