Mass Brawl at the Apostle Andrew Monastery in Dipkarpaz: 15 Arrested
A mass brawl erupted at the Apostle Andrew Monastery in Dipkarpaz, Northern Cyprus, over the weekend. Fifteen individuals were arrested, one of whom used a chair to smash the police station doors, intending to assault two people inside.
According to the police press office, the altercation between two groups of young people began around 11:00 AM on Saturday in the parking lot near the monastery. The fight was sparked by long-standing disputes between the individuals involved. As a result, several people were injured, including broken noses and fingers.
The police arrived at the scene and arrested 15 people, aged between 17 and 47. One of the detainees, a 37-year-old man, broke the police station window with a chair.
The incident was included in the police report with the following details: "Fight and disturbances, illegal gatherings, significant damage, and intentional destruction of state property."
All individuals involved in the incident have been arrested by the police.
