Earthquake Felt Between Cyprus and Turkey
On the morning of December 4, an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.8 on the Richter scale struck the sea between Cyprus and Turkey. The tremors were felt across Cyprus and in Alanya, Turkey.
The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) initially reported the earthquake's magnitude as 5.1 but later revised it to 4.8.
The earthquake's epicenter was located at a depth of 32.69 kilometers, approximately 60 kilometers off the coast near Alanya. Early reports confirmed that the tremors were also felt in various parts of Cyprus.
This incident follows another earthquake late on the evening of December 3, which occurred off the coast of Limassol, Cyprus. That earthquake had a magnitude of approximately 4.0 on the Richter scale and was similarly felt across the island.
