Litterbugs Caught, Fined, and Forced to Clean Up After Trashing Yedidalga Beach
Police in Northern Cyprus have tracked down a group of young people responsible for littering Yedidalga Beach in Lefka. The individuals were fined and ordered to clean up the mess they left behind.
The Department of Environmental Protection launched an investigation after photos of bottles, cigarette butts, and other trash scattered across the beach surfaced online. The incident came to light following a news article titled “Shocking Incident at Yedidalga Beach,” which described the unacceptable behavior of the group on April 16.
Acting swiftly, officers from the police department and the Environmental Protection team identified the culprits. After consultations with law enforcement, the offenders were brought back to the beach to remove all waste, under the direct supervision of environmental authorities. Each individual also received a fine for violating environmental regulations.
