Worker Tragically Dies at Geçitköy Pumping Station
A tragic workplace accident in Northern Cyprus claimed the life of a worker at the Geçitköy Dam pumping station, reportedly due to an electric shock.
According to a police spokesperson, the incident occurred yesterday at approximately 2:00 p.m. The victim, 42-year-old Halit Çeliksu, was working at the pumping station and is believed to have suffered an electric shock while carrying out maintenance tasks.
Emergency services transported him to Nicosia State Hospital. Despite the efforts of medical staff, they were unable to save his life. The exact cause of death will be confirmed following an autopsy. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.
