In Northern Cyprus, a unified Federation of Cypriot-Turkish taxis will be established
Preparations have begun in Northern Cyprus for the creation of a unified Federation of Cypriot-Turkish taxis. It aims to bring together all associations and unions of taxi drivers operating in the country.
The president of the Famagusta Taxi Drivers Association, Muhammet Biberoglu, revealed the initiation of the work to establish the federation in an interview with Kıbrıs Postası. The relevant application for the organization's establishment has already been submitted to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
It is expected that the federation will assist in overcoming the challenges faced by taxi drivers and define a common model of operation for all relevant unions.
Recall that there were previous reports about a legislative proposal in the Republic of Cyprus directed against taxis and minibusses with license plates from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, transporting tourists from Larnaca and Paphos airports to the northern part of the island.
