Foreign Footballer Arrested in Northern Cyprus for Lack of Residency Permit
A foreign footballer from the local "Yeniçamı" club has been arrested in Northern Cyprus after being found without a valid residency permit for the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).

According to police reports, the player, Nfanli Silla, was detained at Ercan Airport as soon as he arrived in the TRNC from his home country. The club’s management is now discussing his future with the team.
Silla, a 19-year-old central midfielder from Guinea, signed a contract with Yeniçamı FC on August 14 of the previous year. Before joining the club, he played for the U19 team of Turkish club Keçiören from Ankara. His contract with Yeniçamı runs through May 30, 2025.
