Construction work has begun at the Metehan Passage Gate in Northern Cyprus
Construction work has commenced at the Metehan Passage Gate in TRNC. As part of the reconstruction, the passage is planned to be equipped with a parking lot and its capacity increased to ensure faster passage.
The beautification works at the Metehan Gate are being carried out within the framework of a protocol signed between the Association of Turkish Cypriot Building Contractors, the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Industry, the Turkish Cypriot Hoteliers Association, the Chamber of Merchants and Craftsmen of Turkish Cypriots, and the Prime Minister. It is stated that the beautification works at the passage have effectively begun.
It is noted that during the beautification works, the paid Metehan Gate "will be transformed into a structure providing faster passage, with modern landscape design." Entries and exits are planned to be expanded to two lanes. It is also planned to equip the area with a parking lot, cafes, to make the services provided "more modern".
Additionally, as part of the works, a separate section will be built for those arriving with insurance, and a separate section for tourist buses.
The contractor for the beautification works at the Metehan Gate, Tüfekçi Ltd company, promises that the works will be completed in the shortest possible time.
