Document submission for the "presidential elections" has begun in Northern Cyprus
Today, document submission for the upcoming "presidential elections" has begun in Northern Cyprus. Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar will submit his "candidacy" to the "Supreme Electoral Council" at 09:30, while the leader of the RTC Tufan Erhürman will do so at 10:30.
The official list of candidates will be announced on September 22. Before submitting the documents, Ersin Tatar will lay a wreath at the Atatürk monument and proceed, accompanied by a procession, to the building of the "Supreme Electoral Council," which functions as the "Supreme Court" and is located in the Nicosia District Court premises at Serafgiou Square.
Tufan Erhürman will meet with members of his party at the central RTC office in Nicosia and then head to the "Supreme Electoral Council."
The actions of the candidates include public events and movements in the central part of Nicosia related to the formal registration. For residents, this means a possible intensive presence of official delegations and party groups in the district court area during document submission hours.
