Big Hunting Season Begins in Northern Cyprus
On Sunday, November 3, the Big Hunting Season will kick off in Northern Cyprus. The Police Headquarters has issued an important statement for hunters.
In their announcement, the press office of the Police Headquarters (PGM) urges hunters to follow the rules and timelines associated with the Big Hunting Season. Legal action will be taken against those who violate these regulations.
"Hunting is governed by laws and rules, as well as the ethical standards of nature and our conscience. We hope that the established hunting seasons will benefit the hunting community and that the days of hunting will be safe and incident-free," the statement reads.
According to the official document, the Big Hunting Season will last for 12 days: November 3, 10, 17, and 24; December 1, 8, 15, 22, 25, and 29, 2024; and January 1 and 5, 2025.
The document also outlines the specific animals that can be hunted, the areas where hunting is prohibited, and the rules that hunters must adhere to.
Specifically, it is prohibited to hunt between sunset and sunrise, within 500 meters of dams and ponds, and within 250 meters of residential areas. Hunters are also not allowed to shoot from vehicles or to use more than three dogs while hunting. Additionally, shooting at any targets other than permitted animals is strictly forbidden.
It's worth noting that the "Fine Hunting" season commenced in Northern Cyprus in early September.
