Nowruz Celebrations to Take Place in Northern Cyprus
Northern Cyprus will celebrate the arrival of spring with Nowruz festivities. The celebrations will be held at universities and cultural centers across the country, featuring performances from artists from Azerbaijan and other Turkic republics.
According to the Azerbaijan State Diaspora Presidency, the Azerbaijan-Cyprus Friendship Society, and the Heydar Aliyev International Cultural Center, the "Nowruz Festival in the Turkic World" will take place from March 20 to 22 at Eastern Mediterranean University and the Heydar Aliyev International Cultural Center.
The events will be supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Nicosia, the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Environment, TURKSOY, TIKA, and the Yunus Emre Institute.
Among the distinguished guests attending the festival are Javad Feiziev, Chairman of the Azerbaijan-TRNC Interparliamentary Friendship Group, and Musa Guliyev, a member of the Friendship Group.
Performing at the festival will be Azerbaijan's State Artist Elbira Abdullayeva, soloists from the Nakhchivan State Philharmonic Zulfuqar Mahmudov and Efsana Babaeva, and soloist from the Azerbaijan State Song Theater named after Reshit Beybutov, Fakhriddin Nijat Kazim. Artists from TURKSOY will also take the stage, including Artur Utegenov (Uzbekistan), Malika Aldamzharova (Kazakhstan), and Gulira Kasymkulova (Kyrgyzstan).
The official opening concert of the festival will take place on March 20 at 8:00 PM at the R. Rauf Denktas Culture and Congress Center. The celebration will continue on March 21 at 3:00 PM at the International University campus, with the closing gala concert scheduled for March 22 at 8:00 PM at the Heydar Aliyev International Cultural Center in Lapta.
