Dairy Products Prices Rise in Northern Cyprus
Following the establishment of a new minimum wage in Northern Cyprus, prices for staple products have begun to rise. As of today, dairy products have become more expensive in TRNC stores.
As a result, the price of one liter of Koop-Milk, previously at 41.50 TL, has increased by 2 lira to 43.50 TL. The cost of one liter of skim milk has risen to 48.10 TL, while the price of lactose-free milk has increased to 51.40 TL.
On May 21, the commission responsible for determining the minimum wage in TRNC voted to set a new minimum wage in Northern Cyprus, resulting in a 23.5% increase.
Since May 1, 2024, the minimum wage in TRNC has been set at 29,640 Turkish lira (34,070 Turkish lira after deduction of all taxes). The Council of Ministers has given a 10-day period for objections to be filed against this decision.
