Milk Prices Rise in Northern Cyprus
The President of the Dairy Producers Association (SUİB), Mahmut Erden, has announced that the TRNC Ministry of Agriculture increased the price of raw milk by 10.5% starting January 1.
Erden highlighted that milk producers in Northern Cyprus are finding it increasingly difficult to compete with imported dairy products, particularly those coming from European countries.
"Our producers have completely lost their competitiveness due to rising costs for labor, energy, fuel, and raw milk," Erden stated.
As a result of the 10.5% hike in raw milk prices, the cost of Koop-Dairy products has also increased.
Under the new pricing structure, which takes effect today, the price of 1 liter of milk has risen from 43.45 TL to 53.50 TL.
