In Northern Cyprus, an escaped prisoner was caught
Over the weekend, a prisoner escaped from the Central Prison of Northern Nicosia. The escaped criminal was caught almost immediately.
According to the police press service, the escape from the old central prison in the organized industrial zone of Nicosia was committed last Saturday, around 14:30. The 25-year-old man jumped over the wall surrounding the perimeter of the detention facility.
Shortly afterward, the fugitive was found and detained by guards in a grove near the prison fence.
The police reported that the prisoner was returned to the prison. An investigation into the escape is underway.
