Northern Cyprus is set to launch its first large-scale recreational park, Life Park. Covering an impressive 22,000 square meters, the park is estimated to cost 65 million Turkish Lira.

The project, developed by the Değirmenlik-Akıncılar Municipality, will be funded using the municipality's own resources. It is expected to be completed within 12 to 15 months, with a tender for the construction scheduled to be announced in the first week of May.

Life Park will be located between the Değirmenlik Secondary School and the Değirmenlik Health Center. The park will include a variety of facilities, such as:

  • An amphitheater
  • A community center (restaurant)
  • A wedding venue area
  • The Taş Değirmen building
  • A fitness zone
  • A synthetic turf field
  • A tennis court
  • Basketball and volleyball courts
  • A café
  • A walking area
  • Parking spaces
  • Chess zones
  • Children's playgrounds
  • Restrooms

Ali Karavezirler, Mayor of Değirmenlik-Akıncılar, emphasized that this will be the first project of its kind in Northern Cyprus, combining entertainment, cultural, sports, and recreational spaces to meet the diverse needs of the community.

The project developers have drawn on global best practices and consulted with leading architects, agronomists, and environmental experts.

“The 600-seat 'Sahne Başpınar' amphitheater will provide a new platform for cultural, artistic, and theatrical events. Visitors to the park will also have the chance to admire unique Mediterranean plants, many of which are endemic to the region. The park’s 780-meter walking area will offer the perfect space for relaxation and leisurely strolls,” the mayor added.
