A public police run will take place in Northern Cyprus

Registration for participants in the public police run has begun in Northern Cyprus. The mass sports event, in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Police Organization, will take place in the TRNC on June 8th.

According to the police spokesperson, the 10-kilometer run for law enforcement personnel will start at 18:30 at the entrance of the Main Police Department, will follow city roads, and will finish at the starting point. The entire event will last about an hour. Participation in the mass run will be free of charge.

It is also known that the police run will have 10 age categories: 18–24, 25–29, 30–34, 35–39, 40–44, 45–49, 50–54, 55–59, 60–64, and 65+ years.

Athletes under 18 will not be able to participate in the 10-kilometer public run. “Water zones” for drinking will be set up at three points along the route. It is also reported that after the 10-kilometer run, a 3-kilometer public run/walk will take place at 19:00, and a 1-kilometer children's run will take place at 19:30.

Race bibs, to be used in the run, will be obtained from the Athletics Federation at Atatürk Stadium in Nicosia on Friday, June 7th, from 14:00 to 18:00. The award ceremony will take place at the Main Police Department on June 8th at 20:00.
