According to the police press service, the accident occurred yesterday morning in Kyrenia. Police arrived at the scene and detained the driver, who was in a state of alcohol intoxication.
The man was taken to the police station. During a search of the car, among the documents in the glove compartment, a pack of cigarettes containing two grams of marijuana was found.
Later on the same day, a search was conducted at the suspect's house in Ozanköy, during which about another gram of a substance resembling marijuana was found on the table in the bedroom. The drugs were seized as material evidence and sent for analysis to the State Chemical Laboratory.
The detained person has already appeared in court for drug possession. The police confiscated the suspect's phone and requested to detain him in custody for three days to assist in the investigation. After reviewing the evidence, the senior judge agreed to this decision.
