“We are committed to fighting and making our voices heard against the coalition government’s efforts to restructure labor, impoverish the people, and reduce the wages of employees,” the Turkish Cypriot Teachers’ Union (KTÖS) stated on behalf of the 10 unions.

Burak Maviş, a leader of the teachers’ union, emphasized that the protest aims to challenge "the attacks on collective bargaining agreements and the cost-of-living calculation methods, which will lead to the impoverishment of workers."

The demonstration is scheduled for Friday, December 6, at 1:00 PM, in front of the TRNC Prime Minister’s Office. The following unions will participate in the strike: KTÖS, KTAMS, KTOEÖS, KAMUSEN, KAMU-İŞ, KOOPSEN, DEV-İŞ, BES, GÜÇ-SEN, and VERGİ-SEN.
