A serial fraudster has been arrested in Northern Cyprus for impersonating a police officer. The culprit has over 200 offenses to his name.

Erdi Konyaloglu ended up in the dock, having committed numerous crimes in Nicosia, Kyrenia, and Famagusta. He deceived people by pretending to be a police officer.

During the trial, police officers revealed that the serial fraudster was caught in the act on February 8th. At around 14:40, the accused went to the Moonstar exchange office on Hasan Tahsin Street in Ortaköy and asked the cashier to sell him £1000, presenting himself as a police officer. After reviewing the surveillance camera footage, it was discovered that the man took advantage of the moment when the exchange office employee was distracted by other customers, took the thousand pounds, and left without paying.

The fake police officer was arrested on February 8th in Famagusta on charges of obtaining money by deception.

During the investigation, it was found that the suspect had previously committed 224 similar crimes, had been convicted multiple times, and had recently been released from prison once again. Considering the suspect's "rap sheet," the police demanded his pretrial detention.

Evaluating the evidence presented, the court decided to send the suspect to prison for a maximum of 60 days.
