Price Adjustment for Milk in Northern Cyprus
The dairy product manufacturer Koop-Süt announced a correction in the price increase for milk. Instead of 10 lira, its cost has only risen by 5.
The new milk prices were approved by the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Agriculture, and the Ministry of Economy and Energy after consulting with the cooperative's board of directors. During the negotiations, the producer waived its share of profit in the milk price increase.
The statement notes that people's purchasing power has decreased due to recent inflation. Therefore, in order to protect the population, the decision was made to reduce the price of a liter of milk, which was initially set at 41.5 TL, to 36.5 TL.
It is worth reminding that the increase in the cost of dairy products was announced last week after the country finally approved the new minimum wage.
