In Northern Cyprus, three Ukrainians have been arrested for 8 days in connection with a case involving 4.5 kilograms of narcotics
The investigation into a criminal case of smuggling a large quantity of drugs continues in Northern Cyprus. In addition to Alexey Pakholvak, who was detained a week ago, the police have arrested two more suspects - Vladislav Alistratov and Ruslan Predeyna.
Yesterday, all three detainees appeared in court again. Sharing new details of the case in court, the police stated that at this stage of the investigation, they are determining how the drugs were smuggled into the country and to whom they were delivered.
According to the police, in October 2023, a male foreigner, under the direction of an unidentified individual, found clients on social media and made drug drops in various locations in Kyrenia. This information was provided to the Anti-Narcotics and Smuggling Department teams.
Recall that the operation to detain Alexey Pakholvak was carried out on February 6th after three months of surveillance. During the search of the suspect's apartment on Kurtuluş Street in Kyrenia, a variety of drugs such as methadone, cocaine, MDMA, mushrooms, amphetamines, LSD, various strains of marijuana, and cannabis oil were found. In total, about 4.5 kilograms of banned substances were seized.
According to the materials of the criminal case, on February 3, 2024, Alexey Pakholvak left two packets of drugs at the market on Kurtuluş Street in Kyrenia. Subsequent investigation, based on regionally viewed camera recordings, revealed that the packets containing substances were picked up by Kyrenia residents Vladislav Alistratov and Ruslan Predeyna.
During the search conducted at Vladislav Alistratov's house, a large quantity of various narcotic substances was also found. At the same time, the police stated that nothing illegal was found during the search of Ruslan Predeyna's house.
It is known that all three detainees voluntarily gave statements and confessed to their crimes. The police requested to detain the suspects for another 8 days. The judge agreed with this decision.
