In Northern Cyprus, new tariffs for obtaining driver's licenses have been approved
The Council of Ministers of the TRNC has approved new tariffs for vehicle registration, license fees, and driver's licenses. According to the updated rates, a two-year driver's license now costs 1,438 Turkish lira, while a ten-year permit will set you back 4,879 TL.
The approved "Regulation on the Review of Fees for Registration and Licensing of Motor Vehicles and Fees for the Issuance of Driver's Licenses (Amendment)" has been published in the "Official Gazette."
The new fees for vehicle registration and licensing vary based on the type and weight of the vehicle. Additionally, fees for issuing dealer licenses for motor vehicles, vehicle inspection certificates, and fees for vehicle crossings abroad have been adjusted.
According to the resolution, students must pay 1,435 TL for a driver's license exam, 1,434.90 TL for a student driver's license, and 1,970 TL for a vehicle driving exam.
The fees for driver's licenses depend on their validity period: 1,434.80 TL for a two-year license, 1,914.70 TL for a three-year license, 2,939.50 TL for a five-year license, and 4,879 TL for a ten-year license.
The fee for an annual driver's license issued with an age restriction has increased to 959.90 TL, while the fee for a temporary driver's license is now 1,434.90 TL. Additionally, the fee for a copy of a driver's license or learner's permit that has been lost, damaged, worn out, or needs replacement has risen to 700 TL.
It was previously reported that an operation against a criminal organization involved in the falsification of driver's licenses was conducted in Turkey. Counterfeit licenses were imported from the TRNC and Georgia.
