In Northern Cyprus, 7 high-ranking officials were dismissed: among them is the governor of Nicosia
In the TRNC, seven high-ranking officials have been removed from their positions simultaneously. Among them is the governor of Nicosia district, Bora Akkuş: he learned about his dismissal from the newspaper.
According to decisions published in the "Official Gazette," in addition to the governor of Nicosia district, Ali Alioglu, the director of the Land Registry and Cadastre, Ercan Besherler, the director of the Social Housing Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Erdinç Akgür, the head of the State Laboratory, Alsev Muderrişzade, the director of the Central Legislation Department, Müge Tunçbilek, and the chief of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Private Secretariat, Ergin Erçoban, have been removed from their positions.
The reasons for the dismissal of the leaders are not specified.
It is also noted that the governor of Nicosia district, Bora Akkuş, stated that he learned about his dismissal from the "Official Gazette."
Reacting to his dismissal, the district governor noted that "there is a certain etiquette in appointments and dismissals." He held the position of governor for three years.
