A fine for the use of drones has been introduced in Northern Cyprus
In the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, a fine has been imposed for the use of unregistered drones. For flights of illegal quadcopters, individuals will have to pay a fine equivalent to four times the minimum wage.
The Ministry of Public Works and Transportation of the TRNC warned the public about the introduction of fines for the use of unmanned aerial vehicles that were not registered with the country's Civil Aviation Department.
The agency's statement notes that the legal regulation of drone usage came into effect on October 23. It is worth mentioning that in most countries worldwide, there is a weight threshold for drones that do not require registration. Specifically, drones weighing up to 3 kg can often be registered for free by visiting the relevant website.
The Ministry of Public Works and Transportation of the TRNC does not provide detailed instructions for registering drones. More information on how to register a quadcopter in Northern Cyprus will be provided in one of the upcoming materials on Cyprus Faq.
