Interpol Fugitive Arrested in Northern Cyprus
The TRNC police have arrested a criminal who was on Interpol's international wanted list. Earlier this spring, he was declared an undesirable migrant in the country.
According to the police press office, Shahrihan Topal, who was sought by Interpol, was apprehended by law enforcement authorities on Saturday evening in Nicosia.
He was wanted internationally on charges of "forming an organized crime group, illegally purchasing, possessing, and distributing large quantities of narcotic substances, and laundering illicit proceeds through transactions such as real estate deals."
In April 2024, he was declared an undesirable migrant by a decision of the Council of Ministers. Following the completion of all legal procedures, the detained man will be deported from the country.
