New Hotline "102" Launched in Northern Cyprus: What Is It For?
A new hotline "102" has been launched in Northern Cyprus. This hotline is intended for reporting employers and employees who do not comply with the ban on outdoor work during extreme heat.
As of yesterday, a three-day ban on outdoor work during the daytime has been implemented in the TRNC. The ban is in effect from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from June 6 to June 9.
If violations of the ban are observed, employees and citizens can file a complaint by contacting the Ministry’s social media or through the "Alo 102" Messaging Line of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.
Based on notifications received via hotline "102," the Ministry of Labor will conduct inspections nationwide. Legal sanctions will be imposed on violators of the ban in accordance with the Labor Law. Initially, a verbal warning will be issued, and in the case of repeated violations, a fine amounting to half of the minimum wage will be applied.
