Pedestrian Hit Twice by Cars on Famagusta–Lefkoşa Highway Dies at the Scene
A tragic accident in Northern Cyprus claimed the life of a pedestrian last night after he was struck by two vehicles in succession. One of the drivers fled the scene.
According to the police, the fatal crash happened around 12:30 a.m. on February 18, near the Çanakkale Reservoir on the Famagusta–Lefkoşa main road.
The victim, 32-year-old Buğra Kılıç, was walking along the road when he was hit by an unidentified vehicle. The impact threw him onto the left lane ahead.
Moments later, another car traveling in the same direction ran over Kılıç as he lay on the road. The 28-year-old driver of the second vehicle then lost control, veered onto the left shoulder, and came to a stop.
Kılıç died at the scene from his injuries. The first driver, whose identity and license plate remain unknown, fled, and police have launched a search to locate them. The driver of the second vehicle has been arrested.
