Fungal Disease Spreads in Cereal Fields in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus
A fungal infection has been detected spreading across cereal fields in Northern Cyprus. The outbreak is believed to have been caused by unusually warm and humid weather, surpassing the typical seasonal norms.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), fungal spotting has been observed on the crops, potentially threatening both grain and stalk yields. The exact type of the disease has not been specified in the report.
Authorities are urging farmers to regularly inspect their fields. A list of recommended plant protection products is available on the Ministry's official website (tarimdairesi.gov.ct.tr).
