The new minimum wage in Northern Cyprus will be determined in June
According to the Minister of Labor and Social Security of the TRNC, Sadyk Gardiyanoglu, if there are no emergency situations, the commission to set the new minimum wage will not convene until June.
This is when a new concept of wage payment is developed.
The minister also emphasized that expecting an “excessive increase” in wages in 2024, as was the case last year, is not advisable.
Recall that the current minimum wage in Northern Cyprus was set in early January 2024.
As of today, it is 24,000 Turkish lira for private sector employees and 34,430 Turkish lira for civil servants.
