The New School Year in Northern Cyprus Will Start on September 16
The new school year for primary, middle, and high schools in Northern Cyprus is set to begin on Monday, September 16.
Approximately 28,000 students will attend 128 public and private schools under the Department of Primary Education. An additional 30,000 students will be enrolled in 48 public and private schools managed by the Department of General Secondary Education.
Moreover, around 4,000 students will join 13 vocational high schools under the Department of Vocational and Technical Education.
Approximately 450 students will be studying at the Taner Akcan Vocational and Adult Education Center.
The total number of teachers working across public and private schools in the TRNC is around 6,300.
According to the Ministry of National Education, report cards for the first semester will be distributed in primary schools and schools under the Department of General Secondary Education and the Department of Vocational and Technical Education on Friday, January 31.
The semester break will take place from February 1 to February 16. The second semester will commence on Monday, February 17.
Final report cards and graduation certificates will be issued on Monday, June 16.
The first phase of the College Entrance Exam (KGS-1) will be held on Saturday, January 25, and the second phase (KGS-2) will take place on Saturday, June 14.
Applications for vocational high school programs from students who have completed 8th grade will be accepted from June 18 to June 23. The list of students admitted to 9th grade in vocational high schools will be announced on June 23.
