The program for celebrating Children's Day in Northern Cyprus has been published
In the TRNC, celebrations for National Sovereignty and Children's Day begin today. Festive events in honor of the 104th anniversary of the opening of the Great National Assembly of Turkey will take place in Northern Cyprus from April 18th to 23rd.
The festive events started with a ceremonial parade on April 18th at 09:00. Students and teachers from central schools in Nicosia, together with the Minister of National Education, laid a wreath at the bust of Atatürk, and then proceeded to the Presidential Garden, where they were greeted by TRNC President Ersin Tatar.
At 10:00, the procession headed to the Assembly of the Republic. Also today, Semi-Final matches of the "Angels Champions Cup in Volleyball," in memory of the students and teachers of the Ma'arif College of Famagusta who died as a result of the earthquake in Turkey, will take place at the Famagusta Development Academy (MAGEM).
At 18:00, the "Exhibition of Children's Paintings of Atatürk" will open at the Central Events and Cultural Hall of Nicosia (Open Market). The exhibition will be open from April 18th to April 23rd.
On Friday, April 19th, sprint competitions will be held at the Atatürk Stadium in Nicosia at 10:00. Also on the same day, April 19th, the Final matches of the "Angels Champions Cup in Volleyball" will take place.
As part of the festival, on Saturday, April 20th, a Basketball Festival will be held at the Near East RA25 Sports Hall in Nicosia.
According to the Ministry of National Education, as part of the festive events on April 22nd, 15 students from schools in five districts will visit state and government officials. The delegation will include 5 students from Nicosia, 3 from Famagusta, 2 from schools in Kyrenia, Güzelyurt, and İskele, and one student from Lefka.
The students will visit Prime Minister Ersan Saner, Assembly Speaker Zorlu Töre, President Ersin Tatar, as well as Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu and Turkish Ambassador to Nicosia Metin Feyzioğlu.
On the same day, at 09:45, a total of 50 students (the number of regional deputies from each district) will visit the Assembly of the Republic.
On Tuesday, April 23rd, Minister of Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu will deliver a speech on the significance and importance of this day. Then, ceremonies to lay wreaths at Atatürk monuments will take place in all districts of the country. The state ceremony will begin at 10:00 in front of the Atatürk Monument in Nicosia.
Additionally, various festive events will take place in schools and districts throughout the day.
