Video of Missing Fishing Boat with Fishermen Published in TRNC
Photos and videos of a missing boat with fishermen off the shores of Northern Cyprus have been published on the internet. Two men have been missing for the fifth day, and relatives are asking for helicopters to join the search.
Footage of the "Eshilim" boat, on which fishermen set sail from the Kumyali fishing shelter on Friday afternoon, was posted on Facebook. The authors of the post are appealing to fishermen for help in the search.
The message asks anyone who has seen the boat depicted in the video to report it to the police.
Recall that 25-year-old Sytki Akargela and 35-year-old Emre Arslan disappeared on May 10. Nothing is known about their whereabouts for the fifth day. Meanwhile, the relatives of the missing fishermen have appealed to the authorities to expedite search and rescue operations. In their opinion, efforts to find the men are "insufficient." The family also requested the continuation of helicopter operations.
According to relatives, the authorities have stated that cameras in the area of the Kumyali fishing shelter are not operational.
