Water will be shut off across Northern Cyprus today
In Northern Cyprus, water supply will be interrupted throughout the entire country today due to a malfunction at the Geçitköy pumping station.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, the interruption in water supply is a result of a malfunction at the Geçitköy pumping station, which is part of a water supply project from the Republic of Turkey to the TRNC.
Repair works began today at 8:00, and as a result, water will not be available throughout the territory of Northern Cyprus.
"The local drinking water sources will be utilized until the malfunction is rectified," stated the ministry.
The public is urged to use water consciously and sparingly during this period. Further updates on the repair progress at the pumping station will be provided to the public.
