Inflation calculated in Northern Cyprus in February

The Statistical Institute of Northern Cyprus announced the inflation rate in the country for February. It amounted to 4.59%.

According to the published data, compared to December 2023, prices increased by 8.60%, and the annual inflation reached 85.71%.

Among the main expenditure groups, the highest growth compared to the previous month was observed in the group of food and non-alcoholic beverages - 8.96%. Goods in the "Other goods and services" category increased by 7.09%, in the "Clothing and footwear" group by 5.75%, and in the "Restaurants and hotels" group by 5.44%.

In the "Gas and other fuels" group, the growth was 3.22%, and in the "Transport" category, it was 3.68%.

Compared to the previous month, the average prices of 625 items included in the index increased, while 38 items became cheaper.

The hunting license saw the highest increase - 88.66%, followed by eggplants - 74.08%, and cauliflower - 73.02%. Arugula decreased by 16.09%, broccoli by 11.53%, and fresh peas by 8.50%.
