Police Checked Markets in Famagusta
Brigades of the police department of the Famagusta municipality conducted inspections of urban markets. Law enforcement officers checked the accuracy of the scales used by traders.
During the latest inspection, police officers found that out of 64 markets operating in the city, 61 met the requirements for scale accuracy. Additionally, three markets were found not to be using scales.
It is also noted that the Police Department continues inspections to ensure compliance with legislation regarding the products sold in school canteens, adherence to sanitary and hygienic conditions in workplaces, issuance of permits for workplace operation, and monitoring of medical certificates of employees.
Inspectors also verify the expiration dates of food and beverages and take measures against individuals arriving in the city as tourists and engaging in unauthorized trading.
