Police warned Northern Cyprus residents about the circulation of counterfeit $100 bills
Law enforcement authorities have warned citizens about the appearance of counterfeit $100 bills on the market.
According to a statement by the police press office, a person who was staying as a hotel guest in Bafra recently put into circulation counterfeit money amounting to 800 US dollars, consisting of eight $100 bills that he had illegally in his possession.
The serial numbers of the counterfeit US dollars used for paying for taxis, accommodation, and gambling were as follows: “MF57396205B, KH62019732C, HE71361680L, KH62019741C, HE71360920L, HE71361221L, PB91650524A and PB91650436A”.
The police urged banks, currency exchange companies, financial institutions, markets, as well as individuals and institutions involved in the buying, selling, and exchanging of money, to remain vigilant and asked everyone to report any suspicious individuals to the nearest police station.
