TRNC Police Caught Suspects in the Murder of the Currency Exchange Director in Nicosia
TRNC police apprehended two suspects in the high-profile murder of 45-year-old Aychi Alav, the director of a currency exchange point in Nicosia. The two men were identified and arrested during a special operation.
The police only released the initials of the criminals - 32-year-old B.G.K and V.S.M.T are detained on suspicion of committing the sensational murder. No further details about the capture of the alleged killers are provided.
Today at 09:30, the suspects were brought to the Nicosia District Court, which remanded them in custody for three days for further investigation.
Meanwhile, TRNC President Ersin Tatar has already responded to the capture of the criminals. The leader of Northern Cyprus congratulated the police for apprehending the suspects in the murder of Aychi Alav. He also expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased woman.
"I was pleased to learn that the killers of Aychi Alav have been caught. Congratulations to our police. I wish patience to Eren Alav and his family," wrote the president on his social media page.
Recall that the brutal murder, which shocked the entire country, occurred in Nicosia last Friday. The victim of the robbers was a 45-year-old entrepreneur, Aychi Alav. The body of the businesswoman was found in the "HİT BİT" betting shop in Nicosia next to her currency exchange point, "Alav Döviz."
It is known that the killers stole $37,000, 10,000 euros, 8,000 pounds, and 150,000 Turkish liras from the exchange point.
Earlier, the police detained two suspects who may be involved in the crime. Cameroonian Frank Leonel Wuobeng Donho and Pakistani Saddam Hussein were arrested for complicity and incitement to murder.
The police believe that they assisted the killers in escaping to the territory of the Republic of Cyprus.
Yesterday, they appeared in court again, which sent them to prison for a period not exceeding 1 month.
