After solar explosions, a magnetic storm has begun on Earth
Scientists have warned about a magnetic storm that has started on Earth following a series of explosions on the Sun.
According to geophysicists, solar activity was detected as early as May 29th. Subsequently, on the evening of May 30th, scientists recorded a disturbance in the Earth's magnetic field.
As reported by TASS, citing specialists, the current level is minimal - G1. Therefore, it is currently considered a weak magnetic storm. However, by the evening of May 31st and the morning of June 1st, its intensity may increase to level G3.
Recall that in early May, following a powerful solar flare, Earth experienced the strongest magnetic storm in 20 years, which, according to the US National Weather Service, reached an extreme power level of G5.
As a result, the northern lights could be observed worldwide. For the first time in recent history, this rare phenomenon was observed in Cyprus.
