The celebration of Eid al-Fitr in Northern Cyprus is coming to an end
Today marks the last day of the three-day Eid al-Fitr holiday in Northern Cyprus. The festivities began on Tuesday evening and conclude today. The holiday weekend in honor of Eid al-Fitr will end on Sunday.
During the three days of the holiday, believers in Northern Cyprus visited elderly relatives and friends, distributed treats, and set up festive tables. Traditionally, residents of Northern Cyprus visited cemeteries, where they visited the graves of their deceased relatives, prayed, and left flowers.
In particular, the President of Northern Cyprus, Ersin Tatar, visited a cemetery in Nicosia, where he laid flowers on the graves of his parents and prayed.
Inmates and detainees at the Central Prison of Northern Cyprus had the opportunity to meet with their families and relatives during the holiday.
It is worth noting that this year, the holiday weekend for Eid al-Fitr in Northern Cyprus has been extended to 9 days, including weekends. Therefore, Sunday, April 14th, will be the last day of the weekend. Starting from Monday, all government offices will resume their normal operations.
