New Campaign Launched to Promote the Tourism Potential of TRNC
The "Island of Cyprus" campaign, aimed at promoting the tourism potential of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), has been launched. Over the past six months, the number of tourists visiting the northern part of the island has increased by 40%. The campaign aims to double this figure to 100%.
The presentation of the tourism promotion strategy for Northern Cyprus took place yesterday in Nicosia, at the historic Büyük Han palace.
The campaign, implemented by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, focuses on promoting cultural values, traditions, and island life. The island's tourism positioning emphasizes the seasonal aspects of gastronomy and the cultural attractions of the TRNC.
As part of the new campaign, tourists from Turkey will be attracted through internet influencers, social media, and digital advertising.
The goal of the advertising campaign is to position the TRNC as an island country "with strong cultural elements and a warm and welcoming population."
Social media accounts created for the campaign can be followed on Instagram and Facebook under the name "adakibrisim."
During the presentation, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu stated that work on the advertising campaign had been ongoing for the past nine months.
"Over the last six months, the number of tourists has increased by 40%. We aim for a 100% increase in six months," said the minister.
According to him, "this goal will be achievable through increasing the number of flights, introducing alternative campaigns, and enhancing alternative maritime services."
Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey Gökhan Yazgı stated that during meetings on the development of TRNC tourism, decisions were made on what needs to be done to promote the TRNC both globally and in Turkey.
As a result, it was decided to divide the advertising campaign into two parts: "Ada Kıbrıs" for Turkish citizens and "Visit and Discover Northern Cyprus" for the world.
