TRNC PRESIDENT LEFT LONDON AND FLEW TO TURKEY
TRNC President Ersin Tatar completed his stay in London as part of the celebrations of the 40th anniversary of the TRNC. After Great Britain, the head of Northern Cyprus returned to Turkey.
During his trip to London, Ersin Tatar visited Turkish schools, met with representatives of the Turkish Cypriot community, established contacts in the British Parliament and assessed the solution to the Cyprus problem with British parliamentarians.
Also, the head of Northern Cyprus met with citizens at the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, organized by the London representative office of the TRNC and the Council of Turkish Cypriot Associations in England, and got acquainted with the festive programs prepared by students and their teachers of the Turkish schools of Fazil Küçük and Rauf R. Denktash .
In addition, the TRNC President gave interviews to the press, took part in a television program and spoke about the history of Cyprus, the Cyprus problem and the vision of the Turkish Cypriot side in the form of a two-state solution. In this context, Ersin Tatar met with representatives of the BBC, Daily Express, GB News, Daily Mail and The Sun.
On the last day of his stay in London, Ersin Tatar spoke at a conference at Oxford University.
In England, the President was accompanied by the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in London Osman Koray Ertas, the representative of the TRNC in London Chimen Keskin and the presidential press service officer Kerem Haser.
In Turkey, the head of Northern Cyprus will take part in the opening ceremony of the 2023-2024 academic year of Bilecik Sheikh Edebali University and will give a speech on the topic “Cyprus and its future in the light of current problems.” Here he will be awarded an honorary doctorate. The Turkish Cypriot leader will then travel via Istanbul to Konya, where he will meet with Cypriot veterans and attend the opening of the 7th Defense Suppliers Meeting.
Ersin Tatar will also take part in the opening ceremony of Seljuk University, where he will give an opening speech on the topic “Cyprus and its future in the light of current problems.” Here, the head of the TRNC will also be awarded an honorary doctorate from Selcuk University.
