The President of the TRNC received the Director-General of the European Commission for Structural Reform Support
TRNC President Ersin Tatar received the Director-General of the European Commission for Structural Reform Support, Mario Nava, and his accompanying delegation.
According to the statement from the head of state, the meeting discussed issues and proposals for cooperation conveyed by Turkish Cypriots to the Greek side through the UN Secretary-General, as well as the proposal to open a new checkpoint in Haspolat, which will reduce congestion at the border gates of Metehan and will be reserved only for economic and commercial activities.
During the negotiations, the topic of research on banking transfers between the two sides and the question of creating a solar power station in the buffer zone were also addressed. It is worth noting that discussions on the future bicommunal project also began in Cyprus the day before.
Furthermore, the development of bilateral relations between the European Union and the TRNC was assessed during the meeting.
